Empowering Future Dental Technicians Through Digital Dentistry Software Training Courses

Medit, a global intraoral scanner provider, is offering digital dentistry educational courses to help modernize dental training and prepare students for the future of clinical practice.

As digital dentistry technologies are increasingly integrated into various treatment processes, dental technician schools are now teaching students the technological skills required to keep pace with these clinical advancements. However, despite the digital shift in the industry, students in some programs are still required to use traditional stone models when completing final exams for certain restoration procedures in their fifth year.

To bridge this gap and ensure educational programs align with the growing trend of digitization in the field, Medit has partnered with Dental Technician Institute Casanova in Naples and Dental Technician Institute Paolo Sarpi in San Vito al Tagliamento to introduce students to intraoral scanners.

Medit has provided comprehensive training on its intraoral scanners and software to approximately 50 students across both institutions. A Medit product specialist worked closely with students to guide them in using the Medit i700 and Medit i700 wireless intraoral scanners. Through these hands-on sessions, students learned how to utilize the scanners and accompanying software to create fully digital restorations.

This partnership not only equips students with practical knowledge of the latest tools but also helps ensure that they are ready to meet the demands of an increasingly digital dental landscape. Notably, the Paolo Sarpi Institute has adopted its first fully digital exam, where students demonstrated their skills in digital dentistry by simulating real-world situations they may encounter in daily practice.

By familiarizing students with Medit’s intraoral scanners and software, these educational programs are shaping the next generation of dental technicians who are better prepared to operate in modern, technology-driven clinics. This hands-on experience with digital tools gives them a competitive edge as they transition into the workforce, equipped to meet the needs of both patients and practitioners in a rapidly evolving dental industry.
